The launch meeting of the SiMaSeed PLUS project was held on Friday 24 March 2023 in Victoria (Gozo), attended by representatives of the three partners involved (University of Catania, University of Malta and Ministry for Gozo). During the meeting, the results achieved by the SiMaSeed project and the objectives of SiMaSeed PLUS were summarized. The event concluded with a guided tour of the Dawwara nursery (Rural Gozo Directorate, Ministry for Gozo, Victoria), where Helichrysum melitense was propagated for reintroduction to Malta, and the Citadel of Victoria, a fortification overlooking the city of Victoria and which is included in the Natura 2000 site MT0000013 “Iċ-Ċittadella” since Linaria pseudolaxiflora grows spontaneously there, a rare Plantaginaceae included in Annex II of Directive 92/43/EEC “Habitats”, as well as Chamomilla aurea and Salsola melitensis.
